9/17/18 – The Banning Informer has obtained a leaked copy of a secret agenda document, which unequivocally proves that Mayor George Moyer is plotting to divert millions of taxpayer dollars to Diamond Hills Chevrolet – after the election, (click here to view the leaked secret agenda document, start on page 6).

In particular, the secret agenda shows that Moyer is considering giving away real property that, according to our sources, may have cost the city millions of dollars to acquire. He is also plotting to give the dealership a $ 2,000,000 cash loan at below market terms and with questionable collateral.

Of course, all of this is planned to be implemented after the election. Pretty slick – if it only was kept secret…..

TOTAL HYPOCRICY: MOYER’S MEASURE P

This bombshell information surfaces at a time when Mayor George Moyer is relentlessly promoting Measure P, an electric utility tax. Moyer has made the claim that the tax is necessary because the city does not have enough money to provide for basic Police, Fire and other essential services.

Quoting Moyer: “WITHOUT PASSING MEASURE P, the city faces MAJOR CUTS TO POLICE, FIRE and ALL CITY SERVICES” (click here to see Moyer’s statement, represented as “true and correct” and filed with the Registrar of Voters).

With Moyer’s secret agenda in plain sight, we now learn that this claim is nothing but a blatant, in-your-face lie. In order to give the secret plan serious consideration, the city must still have plenty of assets and cash remaining. Otherwise a plan like this would have never made it past the trash can.

GEORGE MOYER – NOT ONLY A CORRUPT HYPOCRITE, BUT ALSO A LIAR AND A SELLOUT

The secrecy makes it clear : Moyer has deceived all of us. The city does have money to seriously consider loaning millions to cronies of the City council. What a hypocrite !

Diamond Hills Chevrolet is the same dealership that had benefitted from illegal backdoor dealings plotted by councilman Art Welch. This was determined by the Riverside Grand Jury (see report), who faulted Welch (not Diamond Hills) for malfeasance.

It is also this dealership that, over the years, received a 28-year long sales tax break, as pointed out in the same Grand Jury report. Moyer, Welch and Debbie Franklin all had received campaign contributions from present or former owners of the dealership.

This latest episode now proves, once and for all, that these council members are willing to secretly sell us out to special interests, while publicly claiming that the city cannot afford to pay for basic services like Police and Fire. You get the picture.

BROWN ACT VIOLATIONS GALORE

As a permanent committee, the Finance Committee is considered a “standing committee”, which is subject to the open meeting laws of the Brown Act. It was unlawful for the city to keep the agenda and meeting time hidden from the public.

But George Moyer and Co. are aware that breaking the law never has any consequences in the City of Banning. You don’t go to jail, you don’t even get censured when you get caught red-handed. Your council buddies will always cover for you. Just ask Art Welch.

Grand Jury Investigations? Who cares. Just blame those who initiate them, they are only costing the city money. Right, Moyer?

AN UNPRECEDENTED SCANDAL OF EPIC PROPORTIONS

Yes, Banning continues to be a lawless city. And who would know this better than its corrupt Mayor, George Moyer.

The level of ruthlessness and deceit displayed by Moyer, as evidenced by his latest secret plot, has no parallel in the city’s recent history.

In light of Measure P, this has to be the scandal of all scandals ever discovered in Banning !

CONCLUSION

This scandal not only exposes the true George Moyer – the twisted, two-faced Measure P hypocrite.

It also shows us that a ruthless, double-dealing liar and sellout is running City Hall.

But don’t despair: this time the voters are holding the trump card : By voting NO on Measure P on November 6th, you will have the opportunity to send a sobering message to Mayor George Moyer.

Vote No. Let Measure P blow up in Moyer’s ugly face! It is the only language this pathetic control freak will understand. And it’s about time we remind him who is in control.
